Dear Participant,
we are inviting you to participate in our study “Behavioural Reactions to the Individual and Interactive Effects of Environmental Stressors at Bedtime: A Pre-Study”. Before you proceed with the questionnaire, please read the following information about the study aim and process, your role, and your rights.

Aim
The primary goal of this study is to explore and understand the correlation between your sleep/bedroom environment, your behaviours at bedtime and your sleep quality.

Eligibility
You are welcome to participate in our study if you are 18≤ years old, have access to internet, and are voluntarily willing to take part.

Compensation
If you decide to participate and complete the full questionnaire, you will enter a random draw where one participant will win a €50-voucher from either Amazon or similar e-commerce platform.

Procedure
Participation in this study consists of a survey that takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. If you agree to participate, please click "Next", then please provide your consent to the terms and conditions of this questionnaire to start the questionnaire. The questions include information about your living situation, your employment status, your sleep quality as well as your sleep habits, your bedroom environment and conflicts you might face at bedtime. The questionnaire also includes some questions about general personal characteristics (such as age group and gender).

Possible Risk
Participation in this study is web-based/mobile-based only and it is generally not associated with any risks.

Voluntary Participation and Anonymity
Participation in the research project is entirely voluntary. You can stop filling out this survey at any time without giving reasons or incurring any disadvantages. Since the data is anonymized, you cannot withdraw your consent after submitting the questionnaire. The data collected as part of this study will be treated confidentially. The results of the study will be published in anonymized form so that your data cannot be assigned to you personally. Your email address will be used only for the purposes of contacting you if you win the compensation voucher. The research team will keep your information confidential and will delete them from RWTH Aachen server after sending out the compensation voucher. Data Protection
The SoSciSurvey platform works in accordance with the currently valid data protection guidelines and the data is stored exclusively on German servers. As soon as the surveys are completed, the data is downloaded and stored on local servers at the RWTH Aachen University Hospital and the answers on SoSciSurvey are deleted. IP addresses are not saved.
