Dear Study participant,

we are pleased that you are interested in participating in the survey. In this participant information sheet, you will find all the essential details about the study. Please read this information carefully. Should you have any questions, we are happy to assist.

This study is conducted by TIME – Tübingen Institute for Medical Education, University of Tübingen, Medical Faculty. It has been submitted to the responsible ethics committee, which has raised no objections. Participation in the study is voluntary. If you choose not to participate or later withdraw your consent, no disadvantages will result from your decision.

Why is this study being conducted?

The introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into healthcare offers new ways to solve tasks, generate knowledge, and expand treatment options. However, this shift not only alters existing medical skills but also requires new ones, reshaping the role of doctors and other healthcare professionals. While AI systems are already being used in medical processes, such as diagnostics and decision support, their role as active participants in areas like treatment planning and patient care is still evolving and doctors need to be prepared for that.

Through our survey, we aim to understand how medical students and medical professionals perceive AI advancements and how these changes impact their professional identity and practice in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Who are we looking for?

Medical students from different clinical and pre-clinical semesters and clinicians from different areas and levels of experience across all disciplines.

How will the study be conducted?

The study consists of a one-time online survey that will take a maximum of 25 minutes. You will answer questions about your expectations and opinions on the impact of AI on your professional identiy, as well as provide some demographic information (age, gender, length of employment, profession). All data will be collected anonymously. Participation in the study is voluntary and not compensated. There are no risks or side effects for study participants in taking part in the online survey.
